The Benefits Of The Sun

Well after the snow the sun has been shining through.
Snow and Sun what more can you ask for. I love both! But we are all so concerned about the sun and the damage it can do to the skin. I am with you all on the damage that the sun can do to the skin, the prof is in this picture and story about the truck driver (if you don't already know).

But really, the sun is a natural source that not only helps plants, fruit and vegetable to grow but it also gives us vitamin D. Ancient Yogis and other cultures are known for how they use the sun to aid many illnesses and be radiant in health, so why is it becoming such a bad thing to so many? We are told to wear glasses and clothes to prevent those dreaded wrinkles and skin cancer, and also SUNBLOCK is hugely advertised. Whats wrong with sunblock i hear you say??? Whats right with sun block! Organic sunblock YES i agree with it and i use this myself so "hey ho" to organic products!

The Sunblock we find on the shelves in our supermarkets and drug stores are full of chemicals, just like your make up is full of them with a SF in it. Just remember that what you put on your skin goes into your body.
"The FDA knows that these poisons get into your body via the skin, yet because of the tremendous pressure by lobbyists and politicians, the manufacturers are allowed to put these dangerous ingredients in their products." P97 , Natural Cures, Kevin Trudeau.

Not only is this bad and them knowing its bad, but they are also aware that from studies these chemicals we put all over our children and selves in summer are causing us health problems such as cancer.

"A Swiss study concludes that five of the most common ingredients in sun screen causes cancer. It is no wonder why the more sun cream you use, the higher the chance that you will get skin cancer. The sun does not cause skin cancer, the sun creams do!" P97 , Natural Cures, Kevin Trudeau.

"These chemicals are connected to
  • Oxybenzone, which is linked to hormone disruption and cell damage that may lead to skin cancer.
  • Retinyl palmitate, which has now been proven to be a carcinogen.
  • Octyl-methoxycinnamate causes oxidation damage of the skin, which ages your face.
  • Butyl-Methdiebenzoylmethane, which releases free radicals into the body.
  • Benzophenone 2 (BP2), decreases the function of the thyroid, in a population that is already seriously suffering from hypothyroidism (under active). " Resource: http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-5999/10-Healing-Benefits-of-the-Sun.html
So now with the bad part out of the way lets focus on the positive aspect, and how we can allow the sun to heal us, make us feel wonderful and bathe in it safely.

The sun has many wonderful factors attached to it, not only does it relieve skin disorders it also helps to get rid of depression. The sunlight helps to build the immune system, increases oxygen that is within our blood, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol and here is the wonderful news, it can help send breast cancer into remission when mixed with amazing wholefoods and goodness for the body!

So we have so many wonderful things it can do so how do we attempt to allow these benefits take affect if we can't go in the sun because we are worried about cancer and wrinkles. Common sense really, if you are not use to the sun don't go out in it for hours and allow the skin to burn. Build up the amount of time your body has in the sun and then put some clothing over your skin, put a hat on to protect your head and to prevent you from getting sun stroke. This will help you on the road to being able to stay longer in the sun. If your still a sceptic then do some more research on this yourself and the least you can do is purchase Organic SP instead of the store sun factor to protect you.

I have given a list of links to help with your purchase or go to your local wait rose :-) Yes its that easy your supermarket does sell Organic Sun factor (well some). Please do check ingredients as some do state only 85% Organic or more or less, so watch out for this on all products even the ones below.

Namaste :-)
