SCIATICA AND YOGA

At some point in our life we may become troubled with Sciatica. During our yoga practice we can avoid irritating it more by bending our knees in postures such as forward folds. I have included a yoga video below for those who wish to relieve mild to server sciatic. Be mindful that these postures are not easy postures, so take your time, be gentle with yourself in them and use your breath to guide you gently and slowly through out the practice.


 With the first posture especially Bound Angle - do not bend forward if you are finding a lot of discomfort at the moment with your sciatic nerve. If you wish to move forward make sure you keep length in your spine from the base up to the crown of your head!
