T.V.K. DESIKACHAR AND YOGA TRAINING

"Mastery of yoga is really measured by how it influences our day-to-day living, how it enhances our relationships, how it promotes clarity and peace of mind".T. K. V. DESIKACHAR

Starting more yoga training after doing four years and a half may seem like a drag to some, but i am thrilled to have the opportunity to grow more and be able to share more knowledge to others about yoga. I am now doing training on Vinyasa Yoga as i have a very huge interest in Vinyasa flow yoga as a teacher, so to know more is simply something i crave for.

Today i found out some wonderful news, my teacher that i get to share this vinyasa learning from trained with Paul Harvey for 5 years, and Paul Harvey himself trained with T.K.V DESIKACHAR.

T. K. V. Desikachar is J. Krishnamacharya's son

I feel so blessed to have this opportunity and to share it with other yoga students. We are all students of yoga, we are all forever learning!

T. K. V. DESIKACHAR's book is 'The Heart Of Yoga'

In an interview that takes place in his book T. K. V. Desikachar is asked

"Q. There is a wide variety of yoga practices taught, and talk of many different kinds of yoga. Why is this?
A. Because yoga is not fixed. Yoga is creation. i know the way that you teach will be different from the way i teach, and the way i teach is different from the way my father taught. We all have different experiences, different backgrounds, different perspectives on yoga and why it is important to us. So it is not a surprise that different people find different things through the same yoga teaching. Even in our own yoga institutions different teachers will teach in different ways according to their own perspective and priorities and interests in yoga. The yoga Sutra says that each person gets different things from the same teaching based on his or her own perspective. there is nothing wrong with this. This is how it is." P XXVI, The Heart Of Yoga
